Typical Conversation

Here is an example of a typical conversation between Ashlee and I these days:

(As a loud jet flies above our house)
A: Mama, what was that?
Me: A jet!
A: What?
Me: A jet.
A: A JET?
Me: Yes, a jet.
A: That was loud!
Me: Yes it was.
A: Why?
Me: Cause jets go very fast.
A: Where?
Me: Up in the sky
A: Why?
Me: Cause they have to get places quickly.
A: Why?
Me: (Mumbling) Just cause honey.
A: What?
Me: I said your AWESOME!

We have a conversation of this sort AT LEAST 15 times a day about everything from the bug on the sidewalk to laundry to the shoes I have on. Needless to say, it leaves me totally exhausted and very frustrated. I say this with a smile of course...

Casa Bonita????

That's right, we went. Why? I'm not sure. I think I thought, "Oh, the food can't be horrible STILL!" Well, it IS! Not only does the food still taste like dirt, but now it costs 10 times more!

Regardless, Ashlee had a blast. We went with Tommy, Dede and the kids so she hung out with Taylor and Anthony watching the gorilla skit and the guys diving in the water. I will admit they do have a pretty cool arcade there! However, I don't think we'll visit Casa Bonita for another 15 years!

Can't you tell how much fun Ashlee was having? LOL!
She's such a little stinker sometimes!
One of my favorite pictures of DJ. Look at that awesome smile!
Ashlee and her daddy. I love those 2 so much!

Have I mentioned how much we love our little Lulu?

Family Trip to Estes Park

WARNING: Very long post!!!!
Addison and Ashlee, aren't those smiles just gorgeous??

At the end of May, my parents, sister, and her family all made the trek out to Colorado for a visit. My parents rented 2 awesome condos up in Estes Park so we headed up there for the week. We had so much fun! It was so nice to be able to spend an entire 7 days with my family and not have to worry about craming everything into a short 3 day trip.

We definately did a LOT of stuff, but also enjoyed just hanging out! One of my favorite things we did was one night we sat around the table and made hand puppets (great idea Lissa and Chris) with the kiddos! Now, my sister and I were also drinking some wonderful wine...but even so it was a blast! We were able to go up to RMNP for a quick couple of hours, take the aerial tram to the top and enjoy the beautiful scenery (and Ashlee's fav, feed the chipmunks), check out the Stanley hotel, play at Fun City, attempt a fishing trip (the weather turned bad on us), walk around downtown, swim, playing, sleep, eat, drink lots and lots of wine (one of MY favorite things to do), and just enjoy beautiful Colorado and wonderful family!

Uncle Chris and Ashlee just hanging out (this is one of my fav pictures from the trip).
The hammock outside was a favorite place for the kids to play (and the adults to relax).
Zach and Ashlee were 2 little peas-in-a-pod and had a blast riding their bikes together
The kids spent lots of time splashing around in the pool! I, however, spent most of my time in the hot tub cause the pool was still too chilly for me!

We made it up to RMNP for a quick couple of hours. Here's mom and Ash taking a little hike.
The elk were EVERYWHERE since it was calving season. As you can see they literally were right out our window.

Here we are having fun at, where else, Fun City! We rode the go karts, went down the HUGE slide, and my sister and I even got soaked on the water bumper boats (and believe me, it was not that warm out) and Addison got to bungee on the trampoline! Sooo cool!

A few shots from the Stanly Hotel....

A great picture of Dad, Mom and the grandkids.

Addison, Ash and I feeding the chimpmunks at the top of the aerial tram.

The kiddos being silly! Ashlee sure misses her cousins already!
