Happy Mother's Day

My favorite Mother's Day present:

One of Ashlee's Mother's Day projects at school was to answer the following sentence:

"I love my mommy because..." Ashlee's answer was "she paints my nails."

I finally broke Dale down and he agreed that we could adopt a dog. Neither of us wanted another mammoth like Samson and Zues (soooo much dog poop to pick up), but we really didn't have any certain breed/type in mind. So we went to the Dumb Friends League where we found Zues 11 years ago (sniff sniff). When we were talking to the guy at the front desk about what we were looking for, I seriously started tearing up. I couldn't stop thinking about Zues and the first time we met him. I was hoping we would be blessed with another great companion like him!

...and we found Lulu. I was pretty nervous about getting a dog with Ashlee around. Let's face it, she's 3 and can be pretty rough on things. Well Lulu is just an angel with her. Ashlee lays on her, hugs her, grabs her mouth and pretty much heards the dog around all day long and Lulu just lets it all happen. She is completely potty trained, LOVES to ride in the car, hardly ever barks and doesn't slobber, lick or jump up on you! I even leave her in the house while I'm gone and she doesn't destroy anything! Truly amazing.

We are all already in love with her and can't wait to share our journey with a new 4 legged friend. I know she will be a wonderful companion for the rest of her life! In fact, Ashlee is upstairs in her room with Lulu reading her books! :) So cute!
