Tonight's gonna be a good night...

This is Ashlee's favorite song at the moment (maybe because I play it all the time). Just try to top these dance moves! Oh, and Ashlee's "singing" cracks me up!

Baby goes everywhere...

and i mean everywhere!

Lately, Ashlee and I walk to the playground every evening after dinner (Dale is busy working late on the haunted house, we sure miss him). She insists of pushing baby in the "little stroller" and sometimes Dora gets to come along too. On the way she will stop to show baby flowers, pinecones, rocks, birdies flying overhead, and anything that she thinks may be of interest to baby. It is absolutely adorable. She'll ask baby a question "oh baby, see the pretty flowers" and then she'll answer for baby! Its so cute to watch her imagination at work. Lately though, I've been a little jealous of baby and Dora. They seem to be getting more love than me! :)

I got a job...

I should be happy, right? We all know in this economy jobs are few and far between. I'm pretty lucky, its with a wonderful company, the location is great, the benefits are excellant, the pay is "ok", and I'll be working with a few old friends. Then why am I so heartbroken?

Because I will miss seeing this all day, everyday...

and doing this...
and looking at this...

Things about Ashlee at 2 1/2:

*she thinks rolly-pollys and ladybugs are the coolest things EVER!
*she can count to 20!
*she knows her name starts with A and is starting to visually recognize letters AND numbers
*she knows all her shapes, the ABCs, and colors
*Sesame Street is her favorite (especially Grover)!
*just the other day she brought me a bunch of rocks and sticks and said they "were for my birthday"
*she loves to paint and color
*she is OBSESSED with books and the library
*her favorite songs are Twinkle, twinkle little star, Ba-Ba Black Sheep and ABCs
*how she is trying to understand feelings and tells me when her baby is mad or sad
*speaking of baby, she loves her babies. she pushes them around in the stroller, feeds them, carries them, gives them their pacifiers, takes them shopping with us, the WORKS. its pretty adorable to watch her imagination at work.
*everytime she kisses Dale she tells him she doesn't like his mustache and goatee!

Monkey Bizness!!!

We hadn't been to lil' Monkey Bisness in forever and with the recent heat wave we figured it was time for a visit to our favorite indoor playground! So we met the boys; Tyler, Austin and Carson for some monkeyin' around. Funny thing, we've been there how many times??? and this is the first time I've noticed they have an art room for kids. So this visit the kiddos spent most of the time painting pictures and getting dirty. Maybe we've got a future Picasso or Monet on our hands??

Happy birthday Anthony

Happy 10th birthday to Ashlee's cousin Anthony! He had a very cool "10" themed birthday party complete with a $10 bill on the cake! He was having so much fun with all his buddies I didn't get 1 picture of him on his special day! :( Happy birthday big guy!

Crazy cousins

Last week Ashlee's cousins Kaylie, MacKenzie and Jacob came over for some water fun in the backyard. They had a blast! I'm not sure which they liked more though, the water slide or the sandbox! Once they came inside for lunch they then turned the couch into a giant pillow pit! Oh to be a kid again...

Fun at the Kids Free Fair

A few weeks ago we went to the Kids Free Fair in Aurora with Tyler and his mama. The kids had so much fun! There was so much to do, we could have spent an entire day with all the different events and activites they had. Here are a few pics from our fun day!

Ashlee and Tyler would NOT go inside the fire truck! Its funny because they are both obsessed with fire trucks.
